Back to school Blessings for 2022!

“Your off to great-to-great places. Today is your first day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!” – Dr. Seuss

School days may not be as exciting as holidays, but that doesn’t mean it has to be a boring time. Late January or early February in our house means making sure those going back to school are well looked after, we have a traditional of having the annual school shop day. Going shopping for new school supplies together and letting kids pick out their own pens, notebooks and other school supplies can also help them get excited about going back to school, even if it means the shopping trip might take a bit longer.

Going back to school in 2022 will look different. More Covid Protocol must be done to ensure everyone is safe, and many may be nervous and anxious into what schooling looks like after two years of online learning, but it continues to be an exciting time for everyone especially our youngsters.

Blessing the children at the start of a new school year reminds them that God is with them and Christianity is a way of life that moves into all spheres. Whether your children are just starting Kindergarten, or leaving for university, we want your kids to know that our church cares about them.

Many congregations hold services to bless children’s backpacks, other congregations’ welcome children to wear their school uniforms to church and have the congregation pray for them and others have their elders be at the front of the Worship Centre to offer a prayer of blessing for each family.

As we begin a new school year of learning, Lets look for ways to keep things fun, whether it’s upholding family traditions, such as family breakfast and reading or watching a TV series together, or looking for extracurricular activities the kids will enjoy, such as swimming, football or music and art.

We the Pulse team, join the Church in wishing blessings and prayers for everyone returning to school in this new year! May this year be a year of Fun! Learning! Positivity! And Hope! May you shine bright and know the Lord is with you on your journey in 2022!
