New year, what do I do?

There are heaps of ways to get involved in ministry with young people in 2022.

The PULSE team are excited for what we hope will be our biggest year in ministry with emerging generations yet. There’s lots planned, and while COVID has already claimed one opportunity (RIP RY22) we’ve lots that you and your young people can participate in…

GROWING YOUNG — The PULSE team remain committed to working with congregations who are keen to rethink how they engage in ministry with young people, and those that want to stretch themselves and look for real change in their congregational culture. We’d love to hear from you if you think that Growing Young is something that could help you as you seek to engage/re-start your ministry with young people.

There’s also a number of amazing events PULSE are delivering across the year you can support by sending your young people to participate in, or by offering cash to sponsor young people to attend…

YouLEAD+ — An opportunity for young adults to dive deeper into their discipleship journey with some study, small community, intentional retreats, and an encouragement to search for deeper meaning in your vocational calling.

AMPLIFY (5 March) – Join with the PULSE team as we travel north to Brisbane and be inspired by this incredible ministry training event.

YOUNG ADULT-led community gathering (9 April) — The first of four new community worship gatherings for young adults, by young adults. A chance for everyone to use the creative gifts God has given them and share them for God’s glory. This is a Young Adult-only zone!

KCO (14-15 May) — Bring your older primary young people to Kid’s Camp Out 2022 for a great time and camp under canvas (or score one of the dorm rooms), and bring your high schoolers who are just starting out their leadership journey. This is a pivotal PULSE event and we’re stoked to have it back in person at Wedderburn Campsite.

SOD (1-3 July) — School of Discipleship returns after a COVID-inspired year off in 2021. Full of big ideas, this is a great event to send your young adults to for a weekend of challenging teaching and community.

YouLEAD (13-14 August) — PULSE’s annual one-night gathering for young people wanting to dip their toes in the leadership ocean in a safe and guided way. There’s heaps to learn and lots of great opportunities to hear from God and be challenged as disciples of Jesus.

UYC22 (27-30 September) — Calling all high schoolers (7-11)! This is the camp for you – a massive gathering of young people from across the Synod and have a great time participating in activities, vibrant worship, phenomenal times of community, and a chance to learn more about ourselves and our journey with God. Young adults – we’d love you to come and be a leader and have a great time serving God and building positive relationships with the this marvellous crew. Uniting Youth Camp 2022 is full speed ahead!

HSC Lock-In (4-7 October) — A camp for Year 12s as they prepare for their final year HSC exams. There will be dedicated study times, groups with tutors, as well as a focus on positive relaxation techniques and chances to engage with Uni chaplains ahead of landing on campus in 2023. Sponsorship opportunities exist to cover the caffeine requirements of participants. 🙂

The PULSE team also continually call the church to pray with us for these events, for those involved in ministry with young people across our Synod, and for the young people in our communities.
