Resources for Advent
Advent enriches Christmas by allowing time to reflect and remember the immense love and grace from God.
The Promised Son of God, clothed in flesh, came to live among us in order to rescue us and make all things new.
As the weeks leading up to Christmas have many families, youth groups, Sunday Schools and congregations will find it really busy busy, not only in navigating how they will get back into church but be busy in making sure everyone is taken care for etc. If we lose this truth in the midst of the busyness of December, Christmas will come and go without people encountering Immanuel, God with us.

Making these fabric stars for people to write people’s names on and hang on a tree. Planning on putting together a Christmas tree forest. Stars could work for weeks peace or hope.
Last year we had stations. Attached is a photo of Jules’ favourite. It is possibly more suited for Christmas rather than advent. But, it could be adapted and one could use an empty manger instead.
One of our lovely congregation members made gingerbread scented play dough and split it into small zip lock bags.
Advent traditions that many Christians hold close can help will peel away the distractions that prevent people from seeing the immense glory of Christmas.
