Mission and Ministry with Children and families – A new subject at UTC

In November I am taking the opportunity to teach a subject at UTC called Mission and Ministry with Children and families and I can’t wait!

So why am I so excited? It will be an opportunity to journey together with others to see how your own experience of Children and Family ministry influences how you see and do things now. We will explore together how those differences offer strengths and weakness to ministry and what we can learn from each other.

We have designed the subject to explore the breadth of ministry with children and families, including understanding how other disciplines speak into our ministry practice, the historical understanding of children and biblical understandings of Children and families.

We will explore what does it mean to be in mission and ministry to/ with and for children and families. We have great research into what it is like for children and families in the church, but also in Australia and how the gospel speaks into these places..

We will also look into the Royal Commission and see its impact on the church and talk to practitioners on the ground about how they engage with children and families.

I am working with Stacey Wilson from Victoria, an amazing children and family ministry leader, who has years of experience with intergenerational ministry and is a national leader into understanding the findings of the Royal commission.

If you are interested in children and family ministry, volunteer or are a worker in this area, are a minister looking to explore this area of ministry more deeply, this course is for you.. This subject is available for credit as part of your tertiary study, or you can audit it ($150) for the week why not, just come and join us to learn together.

We will be doing it online with 3 X 1 – 1 1/2 hour session a day for 5 days.. 15th – 19th November, 2021.

Register ASAP so you don’t miss out!
