YouLEAD+ Young Leaders Training Initiative

Pulse is so excited to be launching YouLEAD+ just in time for 2021! If you are a young leader or would like to grow your leadership skills and ministry are from 18 -35, YouLEAD+ could be an option for you!

YouLEAD+ is a 1 year leadership development programme that seeks to grow young leaders in leadership, faith and theology and taking the opportunity to integrate that with practical experience.

There are 2 retreat long weekends, 4 days in Jan / Feb and in July, then the rest of the programme can be done online, so no matter where you are in the Synod you can be part of it. Designed specifically for 18 – 35 year olds it is a great programme for people who might be exploring going into lay ministry with Emerging Gens, looking for a gap year or just wanting to do a bit of exploration alongside study or work.

There are 3 components offered with a flexible format. The leadership stream which is the 2 retreats and once a month online session for 2 hours. The Faith and Theology stream which you can pick up either through subjects at United Theological College and can be put towards a Bachelor level study, or subjects as part of the Living our faith Lay Preachers training. The minimum requirements is 2 subjects over the year, or work towards getting the whole set of 5 Living our Faith subjects. Finally the practical stream, exploring ministry in a wide variety of spaces whether it is volunteering for 2 hours a week as a leader of your congregational youth group or spending more time as an intern working with other Christian leaders in areas that you are passionate about whether that be social justice, music and creativity or property development.

Applications are now open there are limited spaces so register your expression of interest today with Eventbrite.
