SRE Teacher Training!

As a child of a SRE Teacher and one that went to a public primary school and had relied on SRE, It was one of the first proper interactions to Bible Stories and Gods Love. These training will help teachers and volunteers gain confidence to help and serve those who may be in their first steps of leaning and seeking Gods Kingdom.

The idea being that people can complete modules over time in a medium that suits them (eg. workshops, online, modules, etc.) through a number of organisations and denominations which are cross-accredit each others training – Similar to the shared SCTA Safe Church workshops.

To maintain accreditation, teachers are also required to attend each year a recognised SRE Development Training Event and be observed teaching one lesson.

The Accreditation course is designed to equip SRE teachers with knowledge and skills in theology and good teaching practice to effectively teach SRE in government schools. In order to attain Accreditation, each SRE teacher is expected to complete 5 training modules in SRE Theory and Practice and Bible Foundations and be observed teaching 1 lesson by a qualified observer.

Presented via Zoom in the comfort of your own home. $70 full course or $20 per module.
10am Wednesdays 4th, 11th, 18th November
10am Thursdays 5th, 12th, 19th November
Each module runs for approximately 1½ hours.

The Inter-Church Commission on Religious Education in Schools (ICCOREIS) have worked hard to ensure each SRE teacher basic training course fits a common framework. This framework is based on 7 modules:

SRE in NSW Government Schools
Teaching & the development of students
Preparing and delivering a lesson
Classroom Management
Bible and worldview
Classroom observation and feedback
Duty of care in schools, including the Department of Educations Code of Conduct and social media policy.
