Putting Children First!
“I want church members to look at this poster, think about and discuss the principles and talk with each other about how you apply them in your church, faith community, school or agency.” Rev. John Cox (National Safe Church Unit Director)
The Uniting Church’s National Safe Church Unit released a new poster to coincide with National Child Protection Week 2020 whos theme was ‘Putting Children First’ as well, earlier this month.
This Fantastic NEW poster depicts 10 National Principles for a Child Safe Community. As a community of faith, we are committed to providing a safe environment for both children and adults to encounter God, to develop relationships as part of a community and to grow in faith.
As Leaders of young people within our church we encourage everyone to share and distribute this poster and discuss with families and young people how they may feel. As a Church are we standing by these principles?
This Poster is also available in an editable PDF form so that congregations, schools and agencies can co-brand if desired.
Further information on the principles and the UCA’s commitment to child safety through national policies and frameworks is available on the National Safe Church Unit website contacting the Unit at info@safechurch.uca.org.au
